Robert Germann WW II Robert F. Germann Robert F. Germann, a life-long resident of Crawford County, was born on December 25, 1924. A 1942 graduate of Galion High School, Germann went on to join the United States Army the following year, serving as an auto mechanic until he was honorably discharged on December 7, 1945. Germann worked at the Railway Express as a loyal employee for more than twenty years. Continuing his career, he made the transition to Galion Manufacturing, where he served as both an employee and supervisor for more than 15 years. Alongside his professional career, Germann became active in the community in various other facets. Joining the American Legion Post 243, he served as Honorary Commander from 1998-1999. He also held the position of Post Adjutant for 20 years, Military Funeral Detail Chaplain and Commander for eight years and Secretary and Treasurer for four years. Germann is also a Charter Member of the Galion Veterans Commission and member and past president of the Galion Lions Club. An advocate of proper American Flag etiquette, Germann strives to ensure our flag is correctly displayed and as a result of his hard work and continued sacrifice, The Crawford County Veterans Hall of Fame is proud to honor Robert F. Germann, a legionnaire who went above and beyond the call of duty in every respect.
